When you leave an instrument in my workshop for setup, repair or restoration, I will ask you to give me your contact details and sign a copy of the following Terms and Conditions.

Warranties, Terms and Conditions of Trade – Setup, Repair and Restoration

Agreement: This page sets out the agreed warranties and terms of trade between Bresque Basses (“we, us, our”) and Customer (“you, your”).

Your obligations:

Ownership: You warrant that you are the legal owner, or the authorized agent for the owner of the instrument. If you are not the owner, you must provide the owner’s full contact details and proof that you have authority to enter into an agreement with us.

Risk: You expressly agree that your instrument is placed with us at your sole risk and, to the fullest extent permitted by law, you release us from any liability whatsoever for any loss, costs or damages caused by, attributable to or arising, either directly or indirectly, from our performance, non-performance or delayed performance of our obligations under this agreement, or the theft of, or accidental damage to any instrument placed with us, including damage caused by changes in temperature or humidity;

Insurance:  You agree that insurance of your instrument is your sole responsibility.

Payment Terms: You agree to pay for the work when or before you collect your instrument, except by prior arrangement, and to pay by EFTPOS, cash or Paypal.

Storage fee: You agree to collect your instrument within two weeks of being notified that the work is complete, and if it is not collected in this period, that we may charge an additional storage fee of $12 per week or part thereof.

Our obligations:

Performance: We will perform our services in a professional and workmanlike manner in accordance with generally accepted industry practices, using both traditional methods and materials, and innovative new approaches where appropriate, and in consultation with you.

Warranty: We warrant our workmanship and materials against defects under normal operating and climatic conditions. We  limit our warranty to the repair or replacement of the workmanship or materials at our complete discretion.

Security: We will provide a clean, safe and secure environment for your valuable instrument. Our premises are kept deadlocked when unattended and protected with remotely monitored security alarms and fire sensors. Your instrument will not leave the premises at any time without your permission.

Cost Basis: We calculate all work on a standard shop rate which includes GST. The current shop rate is available on request. We charge for materials, parts and accessories at or below manufacturer’s RRP, or as quoted. 

Cost Estimates:   We provide a cost estimate for repair or restoration work based on the best possible appraisal of the issues through careful inspection, but without commencing work. If, after starting the job, issues arise that we could not have reasonably anticipated, then we reserve the right to revise the estimate in consultation with you.

Privacy: We collect some personal contact information from you for the purposes of administering our transactions with you. We will not divulge this information to any third party without your permission. By using our services you also agree to have your name and address added to our email list for the purposes of contacting all our clients for event announcements and occasional promotions.

Social Media: We may document our work using photographs, recordings and drawings (“IP”), which may be provided to you during the course of work to keep you updated of progress. You agree that we have the right to use this IP for our own purposes including social media marketing, and own all copyright in any such IP. We agree that we will not identify you personally in this context without your prior permission.
