2007 Tucker "Sirente" bass $28,000
Made from spectacular highly figured Silky Oak (grevillea robusta) with a four-piece Western Red Cedar top, and a Blackwood neck and scroll. This bass has a removable "D" neck and an easy 41.5" string length. The bass sounds loud, open and plays easily. It is clear and even across all registers.
My online build blog for this bass was one of the first such blogs published on the web, and through it I received a lot of good feedback and encouragement from luthiers and players worldwide.
"Sirente" is the name of a large and noble mountain in Abruzzo, Italy.
This instrument has spent the last few years working in orchestras in Canberra and is now again back in Sydney for sale.
