This is a wonderful mystery. Previously played by the late Sydney bassist Glenn Denny, we son't know exactly where it was made, or when, but it is definitely quite old, and we love it! The instrument is shaped like a small version of a French Mirecourt bass, but has attractive Germanic outside linings and a dark Tyrolian varnish, deep ribs, a short string length and a wonderfully resonant dark voice.
We've done a pretty thorough restoration inside, reinforcing and replacing many previous internal repairs.
Definitely worth your consideration!
