This great gamba bass was born in East Germany in the 1980s. Built as a student grade instrument, it is strong and solid. We pulled the old heavy top off and replaced it with a resonant seasoned cedar top, gave the beast a bit of a beauty treatment and setup and now she is available again for a busy life with some lucky player.

Plays really easily with 42" string length and D neck. As a jazz bass, already sounding great with a deep sustaining E string and plenty going on in the midrange.

A great example of how with a bit of TLC we can bring a dusty old instrument roaring back to life!
