C1960s German carved bass - Short String length

This is a lovely instrument with a convenient 40 inch string length, focused dark sound and in excellent condition. The bass has several previous repairs, that appear expertly done.

Lower bout has an attractive flame pattern overlaid into the lower rib. The attractive machine tuners are not your ordinary factory german style but appear to have been made by expert hand.

This bass was owned for many years by one of Sydneys top symphonic players, and would really suit a good intermediate player for orchestral or jazz work. The short string length makes it particularly attractive for female players.
