Fully carved large Mittenwald roundback double bass circa 1910.

This grand instrument has a broad low-arched spruce top with beautifully even flamed maple across the back and sides. It has a gorgeous colour and patina consistent with its age and history, and is in excellent condition.

The bass has a warm, even tone very suitable for orchestral use.
